〇 Punching Process This is a processing method where the material is sandwiched between the male mold (punch) and female mold (die), and then punched out using a press machine to obtain products or parts with a specified shape. Compared to machining processes that involve cutting the material, this method has the advantage of enabling mass production in a short time, which is why many thin products and parts are produced using this technique. 〇 Thermosetting Resin Laminates The thin plastic sheets for punching processing provided by Rishou Industry are referred to as "thermosetting resin laminates" according to JIS standards. These are made by stacking a specified number of base materials (called prepreg) that have been impregnated and partially cured with thermosetting phenolic or epoxy resins onto paper, cloth, or glass fabric, and then pressing them under high temperature and high pressure. 〇Features The characteristics of the representative model, the thin paper-based phenolic resin laminate PS-1131, are as follows: ☆ The bending strength of a 1mm thick specimen is 140 megapascals. (JIS K 6911) ☆ The dielectric strength per 1mm of material is 10,000 volts. (JIS K 6911) ☆ The heat resistance temperature is 120℃. ☆ It has excellent chemical resistance to oils, solvents, acids, etc. ☆ It has excellent punchability. In addition, boards based on epoxy resin have superior heat resistance, while boards with fabric as a substrate excel in impact resistance, offering various features that can be selected according to the application. 〇Punching Temperature When performing punching processing on thermosetting resin laminates (thin sheets), heat is applied to soften them before proceeding. This heating temperature varies by product, so Rishou Industry generally classifies and provides guidance as follows: Hot Punching … around 100℃ Semi-Cold Punching … 60℃ to 90℃ Cold Punching … room temperature (around 25℃) 〇Punchability For industrial application parts such as outer shapes and through holes, most shapes can be obtained through punching processing.

Punching Processability As shown in the photo, for industrial parts such as outer shapes and through holes, most shapes can be obtained through punching processing. The edges of the punched areas are sharp, and large burrs do not occur. The photo shows an example of material punched at around 1.0mm, but even thinner materials can withstand punching processing. Additionally, the finish and quality of the processed products largely depend on the skills of the mold makers and the know-how of the processing companies, so please consult us first.
