This is a thin and lightweight lens made of a flat acrylic resin, with a Fresnel pattern based on the lens curvature profile of a plano-convex cylindrical lens. Each groove functions as a small refractive surface (prism surface), allowing the entire lens to perform the same function as a single large cylindrical lens. By using a cylindrical Fresnel lens, it becomes possible to meet the conflicting demands of "larger size" and "lightweight" that were difficult to achieve with traditional glass cylindrical lenses. The Fresnel grooves are arranged parallel to the larger side of the "outer shape" specified in the table below.
