basic information
This is a variable density filter (reflective type) that continuously changes optical density in a clockwise direction. The attenuation rate (transmittance) is constant across wavelengths from 0.4 to 0.7 μm. It is ideal for applications such as light attenuation and light adjustment in spectrometers and lasers. Edmund Optics offers a total of 12 types of filters categorized by filter diameter and optical density range (unmounted type). Additionally, a mounted type is available for the 50mm diameter filter. The mounted type consists of a specially designed aluminum holder and an assembly with a rotating density filter, featuring a scale around the outer frame of the holder (in 5° increments), making it effective for applications requiring positional reproducibility of the filter. It includes an indicator and a mount post measuring 12.7 x 101.6mmL.
