basic information
This is a quartz glass optical fiber that functions effectively in wavelength ranges where plastic optical fibers do not. You can choose between the UV-VIS type (large, containing OH groups) and the VIS-NIR type (small, containing OH groups) based on the functioning wavelength range. Both types of fibers use quartz glass for both the core and cladding, and are coated with a suitable polymer material for protection. Fibers with core diameters ranging from 50 to 600 μm use polyimide, which has excellent heat resistance and durability, while fibers with a diameter of 1000 μm use nylon, which offers superior protective performance. The total length of the fibers is available in two options: 10m and 25m. (Note): This product is sold as a material, so the ends of the fibers are not polished.
