A highly sensitive GPS-equipped survey meter for driving. By simply mounting it in a vehicle and driving, it measures and records accurate spatial radiation doses every second, mapping them in color on a map.
This is a GPS-equipped mobile survey meter system that enables high-precision and high-sensitivity measurements of gamma rays using a 2-inch NaI(Tl) scintillator. It is extremely easy to handle; simply turn on the power and it automatically measures, records, and color-maps the spatial dose rate. Furthermore, due to its high resolution, it allows for gamma-ray energy spectrum analysis, enabling the detection of artificial radionuclides such as Cs-134 and Cs-137, as well as natural radionuclides like K-40. Additionally, it features an alarm function that notifies you when a user-defined dose exceeds a set value, making it useful for detecting hotspots in parks, school facilities, and along school routes where children play. It also alerts you with a warning sound if measurements cannot be obtained or if measurements are not being conducted correctly. Moreover, the tablet includes a camera function that allows you to take photos with the local dose rate and location/time information included. The top of the photo displays the dose rate, location information (latitude and longitude), and the date and time in the format of year/month/day. Additionally, it is possible to conduct walking surveys using the included rechargeable battery.

basic information
The detector uses a large-capacity (103cc) NaI(Tl) scintillator with a diameter of 2 inches and a length of 2 inches. The detection device employs a 2-inch photomultiplier tube. By linking the ultra-sensitive detector and high-performance photomultiplier tube with GPS, it measures and records the spatial dose rate over a wide area every second while moving quickly in a car or motorcycle, automatically mapping the dose rates with color coding on a map. The power supply includes an AC adapter powered by a vehicle-mounted AC/DC converter (included), as well as a rechargeable battery (approximately 8 hours of operation), allowing for walking surveys. Additionally, measurements can be taken while stored in the included fully waterproof hard case, enabling walking surveys even in bad weather.

Applications/Examples of results
■Purpose: Used for measuring ambient dose rates and gamma rays. It enables extensive measurements, recording, and map mapping over a wide area in a short time through survey operations. Walking surveys using the included rechargeable battery are also possible. It can be used for measurements in accordance with the "Guidelines for Radiation Measurement" established by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the "Environmental Radiation Monitoring Guidelines" set by the Nuclear Safety Commission. ■Examples of achievements: National universities, decontamination-related companies, local governments, NPOs, etc.
Detailed information
-
Management and utilization in the database Measurement data is stored in the built-in database management system of the accompanying laptop, and can be color-coded and displayed on a map according to the dose set as desired. (Measurement: NPO Furusato)
-
Data sharing of dose maps and dose graphs When you click on a point of interest in the dose graph, a pin will appear on the dose map, displaying the dose rate (μSv/h) and spectral graph for that point every second. The dose rates and spectral graphs for the entire area covered by the vehicle are automatically recorded and can be reviewed.
-
Intuitively grasping changes in dose rate By converting measurement data into KMZ format with the push of a button and displaying it in Google Earth, the height of the dose is shown in three dimensions, making changes in dose intuitively understandable.
-
Recording dose information with photos It is possible to take photos with the camera of the accompanying tablet that include the local dose, as well as location and date/time information. The top of the captured photo will display the dose rate, location information (latitude and longitude), and the year/month/day information.
-
Automatically create a radiation dose map while moving by car. With the built-in GPS, it measures and records the accurate spatial dose rate every second while moving at high speed in a vehicle, automatically creating a dose map on the map. Even without an internet connection, the built-in mapping software can display the dose color-coded. It is also possible to display the dose values.
-
Convenient alarm function You can be notified by an alarm when the set dose exceeds a specified level, which helps in detecting hotspots. Additionally, if measurement data cannot be obtained or if measurements are no longer being conducted correctly, an alarm sound can also be triggered.
-
Energy spectrum analysis High resolution enables gamma-ray energy spectrum analysis. The presence of artificial radionuclides such as Cs-134 and Cs-137, as well as natural radionuclides like K-40, can also be confirmed. Spectrum data is automatically recorded every second. When detecting hotspots, the radionuclides can be identified by measuring the spectrum. The spectrum can also be displayed in logarithmic form.
-
It is possible to take measurements while the detector is still in the hard case. The hard case is made by PELICAN, which is said to have the highest shock resistance in the world, protecting the detector, tablet, and laptop from water, dust, and impact. You can take measurements while the detector and tablet are still in the hard case.
