The ultra-micro sample viscometer manufactured by Leosense employs an innovative measurement system that utilizes Microfluidics and MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technology. When a sample is flowed through a rectangular microchannel (depth: 20–100 μm), multiple sensors arranged within the channel measure the pressure. When the measurements and positions of each sensor are graphed, they form a straight line. It is generally known that the slope of this line is proportional to viscosity, and viscosity is calculated from that slope.
