As an evaluation method for self-discharge, it is a very sensitive technique. It allows for various assessments regarding battery performance, stability, and compatibility of constituent materials.
The isothermal calorimetry device (TAM series) is an instrument that measures very small amounts of heat, known as a microcalorimeter. By combining a thermostat with high isothermal performance with a calorimeter (calorimeter) suited to the sample and measurement method, it is possible to measure minute heat generated or consumed during physical processes or chemical reactions with sensitivity exceeding microwatts. Here, we introduce application examples of battery evaluation using the isothermal calorimetry device TAM.
