The Layflat Photo Album Binding Machine fastBook Professional 1000 is a fully automatic binding machine that finishes sheet-fed printed paper into layflat books. It can handle layflat binding with a maximum size of 457mm x 457mm (maximum open width of 914mm). The spine gluing is done after sandwiching the cardboard, and then the binding is completed. It automatically feeds the paper and chipboard, scores the paper in the middle, folds it, and binds it by applying hot melt adhesive to each piece of chipboard. With layflat binding, it is possible to create panorama pages that open completely flat, making it particularly suitable for high-end photo books, presentation materials with a premium feel, and catalog books.
