Drum Brake 1) Hydraulic Simplex Brake The simplex brake allows for a play-free parking brake operation with a shoe type fixed at the lower pivot point. The advantage of this feature is that a uniform actuation force is transmitted, resulting in stable braking force. It is the most common type of brake. 2) Hydraulic Servo Brake The servo brake is characterized by the friction force of the leading shoe and the movable pivot point that transmits force to the trailing shoe (part of the sliding surface). The servo brake excels in braking performance while being space-efficient.
