It is a general-purpose input/output device and compact, allowing you to configure an original GPIB terminal.
This device is a general-purpose digital input/output unit equipped with a GPIB interface, featuring 24-bit input ports and 16-bit output ports. Simple IN/OUT commands allow for monitoring of the input ports and control of the output ports. Additionally, this device can reproduce the functions of the older model "UIO-788GPB" through jumper settings. By closing the designated jumper, users can utilize the "788 ASCII mode" and "788 Binary mode," allowing them to incorporate the GPIB interface into their own products using this handshake signal. By reading/writing data to these input/output ports through GPIB from the host computer, users can control and monitor devices (user circuits) connected on the terminal side.

basic information
* 5440 Mode (Compliant with IEEE 488.2 standard) You can perform operations such as output to the output port (16-bit), input from the input port (24-bit), and reading the operating status and status input (8-bit: shared with input port) using ASCII string commands. * 788 ASCII Mode (Compliant with IEEE 488.2 standard) You can perform operations such as output to the output port (8-bit), input from the input port (14-bit), and reading the operating status and status input (7-bit) using ASCII string commands. Additionally, there are bit-level input/output commands and buffering functions. * 788 Binary Mode (Compliant with IEEE 488.1 standard) This mode does not have input/output commands like the ASCII mode. By designating this device as a listener, you can perform output operations to the output port (8-bit), and by designating it as a talker, you can perform input operations from the input port (8-bit). You can also read the status (7-bit) via the serial pole. Since there are no command strings, faster data transfer than in ASCII mode is possible.
