As the production quantity increases, it becomes possible to reduce the total cost.
We would like to introduce a case where cost reduction was achieved through centerless continuous grinding of workpieces with step shapes that cannot stand on their own. There are workpieces with step shapes and thin shapes, but in this case, both were unbalanced and could not stand on their own. Unless specified in the drawings, end face grinding is usually not performed, which leads to variations in end face turning accuracy and poor contact between workpieces, making it easier for the workpieces to fall over during centerless grinding. Therefore, weights are placed on both sides of the workpieces, and grinding is performed by clamping them a little at a time. As a result, the time required for setting the workpieces became longer than the processing time for centerless grinding. [Before Improvement] ■ Workpieces with step shapes and thin shapes are both unbalanced and cannot stand on their own. ■ The time required for setting the workpieces increases due to the risk of them falling over. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

KONISHI Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has been providing products to the world market with ball bearings under the trademark name "MRK." "Precision machining" and "mass production" are fundamental concepts for the manufacturing industry, yet they are being reexamined in light of the harsh realities that constantly demand speed and cost reduction. In the midst of changing values and diversifying needs, how we can enhance customer satisfaction and trust is a significant challenge and driving force for us. We believe that thorough quality control, improvements in work efficiency, a flexible system that introduces new information and technologies as needed, and above all, a customer-centric mindset will lead to new possibilities. We are actively working on "small lots" and "short delivery times," focusing on building a system that meets current needs and turning customer proposals into reality.
