This is an environmentally friendly car light type molten treatment flux developed in Europe.
No fluoride is used, and smoke and odor are almost zero. By blowing Promag F into the molten bath, the ability to remove alkali metals (Na and Ca) and the ability to purify the molten bath achieve effects equal to or greater than those of chlorine gas injection. Features ● Fluoride-free and environmentally friendly. No hydrogen fluoride is generated. A karnalite-based flux that does not contain calcium (Ca) or sodium (Na). ● No smoke is generated. Hexachloroethane and fluoride-based fluxes produce considerable smoke.

basic information
● Almost no odor Chlorine gas and hexachloroethane generate quite a strong odor. ● Little generation of hydrochloric acid (HCl) fumes on the surface of the molten salt. Most fluxes release hydrochloric acid into the atmosphere, but Promag F generates almost none. In particular, organic chloride-based fluxes (hexachloroethane) and those containing fluoride-based components release a significant amount of hydrochloric acid. Chlorine gas is out of the question. ● Powdered magnesium chloride (MgCl2) is quite hygroscopic, and touching it with wet hands or sweaty hands can cause burns, but Promag F does not have this issue. ● The quickly melted Promag molten salt adheres to inclusions (the molten salt wets the inclusions), making it easier for the inclusions to float and be removed, thus providing a cleansing effect on the molten metal. ● It has a degassing effect (especially effective when blown with nitrogen gas). ● There is little oxidation of the molten metal during processing, resulting in a significantly lower amount of dross generation. ● The amount added is about half compared to conventional fluxes. ● It has a proven track record with the European Pechiney Group and the North American ALCAN Group, leading to the elimination of chlorine gas.
