Fucoidan containing the patented anti-inflammatory ingredient "Magusisarishilate®."
Fucoidan is a type of sulfated polysaccharide that is abundant in brown algae. Since its discovery by Kylin in Sweden in 1913, various effects have been reported. Darbilia fucoidan is produced from the marine plant Darbilia antarctica, which resembles kelp and inhabits the waters near Antarctica (off the coast of Chile). It also contains Magusisalicilate® (patent No. 5147218), which has a selective inhibitory effect on the enzyme COX-2 (cyclooxygenase-2), involved in the production of substances that cause inflammation and pain.
