Development Background of "Kaki-Danomi" Since its founding in 1883, Sumie Orimono has provided customers with richness and comfort in their lives through interior products. In recent years, we have not only expanded our product offerings by applying the unique technologies we have cultivated, but also provided new value in the field of functional materials based on biotechnology under the themes of K (Health), K (Environment), R (Recycling) + A (Amenity: Comfort). Since 2012, we have been engaged in functional research and manufacturing sales of health foods and cosmetic ingredients. Additionally, our research on persimmon tannin at Sumie Orimono began with the aim of utilizing its functionalities, such as deodorization and antibacterial properties, in interior products. This initiative was adopted by Nara Prefecture's "High Value-Added Acquisition Support Subsidy Local Food Development Project" for the fiscal year 2016, leading to the development of food products that leverage the new functionalities of persimmon polyphenols. We renewed and relaunched the product on February 15, 2023. The package design, packaging format, and capacity have been changed. We switched from the traditional small bag type to a resealable aluminum pouch that can be used continuously with one bag. Package size: Width 10 cm × Height 16.6 cm × Thickness approximately 1.2 cm (the size is the same for both 14-piece and 60-piece packs). We now offer two types: 14 pieces (approximately 7 days' worth) and 60 pieces (approximately 30 days' worth).
