The "RFM Skim Dam" prevents oxides downstream of the downspout from being entrained in the ingot. It can be freely modified in design to match the shape of the ingot. Due to its high-strength composite material, a thin design is possible, which deeply penetrates the molten surface to block oxides. Additionally, it is coated with "BN Lubricant ZS Blue," making the surface non-wetting to aluminum molten metal.
