Knowledge Hub of the Screw Industry: Reevaluation of Wooden Construction and Joining Hardware

Finally, large-scale wooden structures are starting to be built.

This article introduces the reconsideration of wooden architecture and connection hardware. In large wooden structures, not only traditional hardware connection methods but also the development of new connection technologies and the combined use of architectural fasteners (screws and nails) are required for speedy and easy construction. Additionally, specifications for materials such as laminated timber and CLT (cross-laminated timber) have been established. The building code recommends the use of certified hardware, and in other cases, the use of JIS standard products seems to be permitted. Products manufactured by factories that comply with the various criteria of materials, product standards, manufacturing equipment, quality control, and quality assurance become JIS standard certified products. It is necessary to use connection hardware and connectors correctly according to the certified products. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
