Applications/Examples of results
Titanium is a metal that possesses strength, lightness, and corrosion resistance, but it has low thermal conductivity and, due to its high strength, also has poor tool life, positioning it as a difficult-to-machine material. At Yushiro Chemical, we focused on the titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V, which is representative of titanium alloys, and conducted joint research with OSG Corporation to improve its tool life, resulting in the development of FGE2002.
