Holt has announced a MIL-STD-1553 terminal that is compatible with many DDC MIL-STD-1553 terminals in both pin configuration and software register levels. All families provide a complete shape, fit, and functional alternative that allows users to drop in to existing 1553 designs without changing existing board layouts or software.

Holt's new device family includes MIL-STD-1553 terminals such as DDC, Mini-ACE, Enhanced Mini-ACE, Micro-ACE TE, Micro-ACE, Mini-ACE Mark3, Total-ACE, and Simple System RT (SSRT), all of which have complete register-level software compatibility and pin compatibility. The single-chip monolithic design allows Holt to reduce costs and shorten lead times compared to traditional hybrid or multi-chip module methods. Due to the high maximum junction temperature, Holt devices support operation in extended temperature ranges (-55 to 125°C) without limitations on transmission duty cycles or special heat sinks. ■ Japanese technical documentation for MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC 429 communication standards is available.
