A tipping bucket rain gauge with a structure that is less affected by wind due to its constriction!
The "OW-34-BP" is a tipping bucket rain gauge composed of a body and a measuring section. The measuring section is housed within the body, which has a water intake with a diameter of 200mm. The tipping bucket tips over with the weight of 0.5 mm (standard) of precipitation, and a magnet attached to it switches the reed switch ON each time it tips. This converts the precipitation amount into contact signals for rain measurement. 【Features】 ■ The constriction in the center of the body makes it less susceptible to wind effects even in strong winds. ■ Can be installed in environments prone to affecting metal parts, such as volcanic areas, coastal areas, and various plants. ■ Designed to minimize issues caused by corrosion and other problems. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Company information
Ota Instrument Manufacturing Co., Ltd. believes that people's lives are influenced by the environment, economy, culture, and even health, all of which are affected by climate. Weather observations, such as wind speed, are essential activities for reading the "subtle signs emitted by the Earth," represented by phenomena like global warming. They play a crucial role in understanding, predicting, and responding to the subtle changes in nature, thereby shaping the present and the future. Ota Instrument Manufacturing Co., Ltd. considers weather observation instruments as an "interface connecting nature and humanity" and has developed and provided high-precision products using cutting-edge technology for many years. Based on a traceability system constructed according to national standards, including the Measurement Act and the Japan Meteorological Agency's certification standards, we are expanding various inspection facilities and equipment while conducting rigorous product checks. Weather observation instruments are often used in harsh environments, and the reliability of the products depends on how accurately they can measure data in such conditions.
