- Overview Sharpness is one of the indicators that represent the clarity of an image. Essentially, it deals with "blurriness," and being sharp indicates that there is little "blurriness." While resolution indicates the limit at which blurriness becomes invisible, sharpness differs significantly from resolution in how it expresses the degree of "blurriness" or how "blurriness" progresses. Resolution is a subjective evaluation, whereas sharpness is an objective evaluation. - Measurement Details The MTF measurement of the SMS-1000 is conducted using the square wave chart method. For samples of display optical materials, both film and glass types, pseudo-pixel patterns with different resolutions (accessories) are used to measure the optical intensity profiles with and without the sample, calculate the MTF, and determine the sharpness.
