Plasma spraying is a process that uses a plasma jet generated by a plasma spray gun to heat and accelerate powder-like spray materials, bringing them to a molten or near-molten state, and then spraying them onto a substrate to form a coating. The plasma jet, which serves as the heat source, is a high-temperature and high-speed gas flow ranging from 5000 to 16000°C, allowing for a wide variety of spray materials to be used, from metallic to high-melting-point ceramics.
