In the unfortunate event that the lock breaks and you become trapped indoors... ● TXS lock's fail-safe mechanism When excessive impact is applied to the lever handle, or when excessive rotational torque causes metal fatigue, or if damage occurs due to normal use (repeated light loads: aging deterioration) leading to component wear, the latch bolt will remain retracted inside the lock (activating the fail-safe), preventing issues such as the door becoming unable to open.
