Octet application "COVID-19 Research"

Zaltrius has launched the Octet R series, a modular label-free real-time biomolecular interaction analysis system. It can be upgraded to meet future throughput demands, which helps to reduce initial costs. The Octet series employs a bio-layer interferometry method that does not require microfluidics, making maintenance easy, improving lab productivity, reducing costs, and shortening experimental timelines.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recognized on March 11, 2020, that the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection had reached a pandemic level. Currently, there is a demand for the acceleration of research on treatments and vaccine development for this infection. To expedite the development of therapeutics and vaccines, advanced analytical techniques are crucial for rapid screening of many candidates and for determining the most promising candidates. The Octet system enables real-time assays of biomolecular interactions using BLI technology and allows for high-throughput screening and evaluation of candidates through simultaneous measurement of multiple samples.
