Toshiba Information Systems Corporation hosted a seminar featuring Uib Systems! How should control systems confront the increasingly sophisticated and advanced cyber threats? In the context of the trends in IoT and CPS (Cyber-Physical Systems), the situation surrounding control systems is also becoming more diverse. With the generalization and openness of control systems, the risks of cyber attacks, which have primarily focused on information systems, are now extending to control systems as well. The necessity of control system security is becoming widely recognized. In this presentation titled "Building Control Systems That Do Not Succumb to Cyber Threats – Embedded Software Solutions for Implementing IEC 62443," we will introduce security standards and implementation technologies for control systems.

Technology has evolved dramatically, and embedded devices have become more powerful, cheaper, and above all, more versatile. Recent devices tend to use standard components programmed in Java or C instead of requiring highly specialized assembler coding experts or custom hardware. This has opened the door to innovation, but it has also raised the standards for protection and security in embedded control systems.
