Corning Advanced-Flow Reactors (AFR) are inherently safe technologies for chemical manufacturing in the pharmaceutical, pesticide, specialty chemicals, and fine chemicals industries, from lab feasibility to industrial production through continuous flow processing. AFR is specifically designed to enable the transition from traditional batch chemical processing to continuous flow chemical processing, accommodating production from lab to industrial scale. The integrated fluid module, featuring a patented heart-shaped design by Corning, is meticulously engineered using glass and silicon carbide materials, allowing for rapid and seamless scale-up while also improving heat transfer and mass transfer (mixing). The Advanced Flow Reactor products offer a range of innovative continuous flow reactor solutions that are designed and optimized for rapid and seamless scale-up, from feasibility in academia and laboratories to process development (G1, G1 SiC, G1 Photo) and industrial production of chemicals at a scale of 10,000 tons (G3 Photo, G4 & G5).
