Introducing a case where electroless tin plating was proposed for small components to address issues of no plating and uneven plating!
We were processing micro brass parts, measuring a few millimeters in size, using a barrel for electroplating with tin. However, we faced issues with parts sticking together, leading to areas without plating and uneven plating. The purpose of tin plating is to reduce surface contact resistance, and since a thin film thickness is acceptable, we proposed electroless tin plating. As a result, previously, due to barrel plating, there was variation in plating thickness and defects such as areas without plating and uneven plating occurred.
