BYK-C 8001 is a coupling agent that works between epoxy resins and glass fibers and has certification from Germanischer Lloyd. By adding this coupling agent to the resin, mechanical strength can be improved by up to 60%. Process additive for improving the impregnation of reinforced fibers Even when using high-strength carbon fibers for reinforced fibers, if poor impregnation occurs, the original performance cannot be fully realized. In particular, the surface of carbon fibers does not bond well with resins, and defects during molding often become a problem. To solve such issues, the process additive BYK-P 9920 was developed to improve the wettability of reinforced fibers. By adding BYK-P 9920 to the resin, it is possible to reduce the entrapment of bubbles and voids, thereby achieving a decrease in defect rates during molding and a reduction in repair processes. The addition of this additive does not affect the strength properties of the final product.
