It exhibits outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in both oxidizing and non-oxidizing environments, and is widely used as a material in harsh environments such as flue gas desulfurization systems, papermaking, and waste treatment. Welding can be performed using standard welding methods similar to those for stainless steel, and post-weld heat treatment is not required.
