MRI scanners are important diagnostic tools, but they are large, very heavy, and require liquid helium for cooling. Neoscan Solutions has developed a much smaller and lighter MRI scanner that can be installed directly in children's wards of hospitals, reducing the distance for transport and allowing scans of sick babies while they are asleep. The key to the design being much smaller is the use of Spectrum's digitizer and AWG.
