- Principle of air separation by PSA adsorption method: pressure swing adsorption Oxygen molecules have a smaller molecular diameter than nitrogen molecules → Utilizing this fact → Oxygen molecules pass through → Nitrogen molecules do not pass → Prepare a molecular sieve with precise pore size for selective adsorption → Fill two adsorption towers → In one adsorption tower → Supply oil-free compressed air from an oil-free air compressor → Only oxygen is selectively adsorbed → The nitrogen that is not adsorbed is discharged → Switch the air supply direction to the other adsorption tower using a solenoid valve → The first adsorption tower returns to atmospheric pressure → At that time, the selectively adsorbed oxygen is released → By repeating this operation in the two adsorption towers → Oxygen and nitrogen are separated. - Components of air: 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 0.04% CO2.
