During a disaster, the energy that should be prioritized for recovery is "electricity." In the basic plan for national resilience, which is guided by the Cabinet Secretariat, LP gas has been newly specified as a stockpiled fuel for disasters, in addition to oil, starting from the fiscal year 2019. LP gas has been recognized for its advantages, such as relatively stable distribution during disasters, no fuel degradation, ease of large-scale long-term storage, and availability for use during normal times.
