Many antivirus software programs cannot scan the contents of password-protected ZIP files, posing a significant risk; however, the PPAP method is a security measure that is widely used (and in some companies, mandated). Given this background, the PPAP method has caught the attention of cyber attackers as a "convenient" means for distributing malware.
