Please use this for the culture test of C. difficile.
【C.Diff Selective Enrichment Medium】 This product is a selective enrichment medium for C. difficile. This product allows for the selective enrichment and culture of C. difficile under aerobic conditions, simplifying the processes required for anaerobic culture, such as equipment, reagents, and preliminary reduction. It uses a self-supporting test tube container, making it easy to handle. 【C.Diff Selective Isolation Medium】 This product is a selective agar medium for C. difficile. It allows for direct inoculation of feces, simplifying alcohol treatment. It is individually packaged in a pre-reduced state, enabling prompt testing. Additionally, because it is packaged one by one, it is also characterized by excellent storage capability for unused media.

basic information
Clostridioides difficile (C. difficile) was renamed from Clostridium difficile in 2016 due to its distinct characteristics from other species of the Clostridium genus. In 2018, the Japanese Society of Chemotherapy and the Japanese Society of Infectious Diseases proposed the "Clinical Guidelines for Clostridioides difficile Infection" regarding diagnostic tests for C. difficile infection (Clostridioides difficile infection: CDI). Within these guidelines, it is recommended to conduct culture tests when nucleic acid amplification tests (NAAT) for toxin B cannot be performed or when nosocomial infections are confirmed. When culturing C. difficile, it is generally necessary to perform the culture under anaerobic conditions. Although culture tests require more time and effort compared to other testing methods, they can lead to strain analysis. It is recommended to actively conduct these tests, especially in cases of epidemiological investigations.
