Surface Treatment: Galvanic Corrosion Countermeasures Associated with Component Weight Reduction | Development Proposal Case Study
Adopted for aluminum heat-insulating covers, fuel tanks, water heater components, etc.! A case that solved the problem of galvanic corrosion.
Due to the change of component material from iron to aluminum for the purpose of weight reduction, areas where iron and aluminum come into contact have emerged, leading to issues with galvanic corrosion between aluminum and iron. To address this problem, our company has implemented a coating solution. By adopting Geomet for iron components, we have resolved the issue of galvanic corrosion. In the measures against galvanic corrosion due to aluminum doors, components such as "MALE, CENTER ROLLER, RH" have been adopted 240,000 times annually. [Case Summary] ■ Background: Change of component material from iron to aluminum for weight reduction ■ Issues before adoption: - Galvanic corrosion due to contact between aluminum and iron ■ Effects after adoption: - The issue of galvanic corrosion has been resolved by adopting Geomet for iron components *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

basic information
【Improvement of Galvanic Corrosion Resistance Performance by Top Coating】 ■Development of two types of top coats for e-Toruka Ecoat(R) EP200 (1) e-Toruka enhances the corrosion resistance of Geomet and plating, has a friction coefficient adjustment function equal to or greater than Neo-Toruka, and consolidates the functions of two coatings, Ecoat HB110 + Neo-Toruka, into one coating. (2) Ecoat(R) EP200 is a variation of e-Toruka with a different formulation of lubricant, improving the corrosion resistance of Geomet and plating, and achieving a friction coefficient equivalent to Ecoat HB100. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
