In a cytotoxicity assay, the toxic effects of various cytotoxic drugs or physical stress on cells are measured. 'C.LIVE TOX GREEN/RED' is a highly sensitive DNA-binding dye that is impermeable to live cells and non-fluorescent outside the cells. It enters dead cells through damaged plasma membranes, binds to DNA, and emits fluorescence.
