Battery springs and battery terminals often use plated steel wire "SWIC."

The material used is "Nickel-plated steel wire SWIC-F." "SWIC-F" is a plated steel wire that has been nickel-plated on iron-based spring material. The base spring material can be chosen between "hard steel wire," which has good workability, and "piano wire," which excels in durability, depending on the application of the spring. "SWIC-F" is a material with high electrical conductivity and excellent solderability, commonly used for battery terminals and battery springs. Its corrosion resistance is comparable to that of SUS spring materials, allowing for the elimination of post-plating, which can also lead to cost reduction. Additionally, there is the advantage that hydrogen is removed during the wire drawing process, eliminating the risk of hydrogen embrittlement. This battery spring is formed using a multi-forming machine. After spring formation, heat treatment is performed at a low temperature of 200 to 250 degrees to ensure solderability. Upon delivery, the products are separated into individual pallets to prevent entanglement.
