We would like to introduce the coating process and various mechanisms of the mass production dip coater (coating device) that our company has been manufacturing so far. In reality, what kind of mechanisms are involved in an automatic mass production dip coating device? How is the coating applied? What are the important factors to consider when constructing and selecting these mechanisms? We believe it can be summarized in the following two points: - Cleanliness: Minimal film unevenness, drips, defects, accumulations, and deviations. - Sufficient durability: Adequate adhesion between the substrate and the paint. The performance of the coating film depends on the paint, but to bring out the performance of that paint, it is necessary to consider the three processes: pre-coating cleaning/modification process, dip coating process, and drying (curing) process, along with the key points of each mechanism.

●From the overview of dip coating, we explain our precise speed control based on film thickness data regarding the uniform coating results at low-speed ranges (approximately 0.1 mm/sec to 3 mm/sec) and how to address the tendency for thicker films at the lower part of the coating surface due to the weight of the liquid during high-speed ranges (5 mm/sec and above). ●We explain the strength of dip coating, which is the "liquid followability," based on our precise lifting control aimed at achieving uniform coating on various workpiece shapes, using illustrations and film thickness data. In this way, we introduce our coating methods utilizing precise dip coating through speed control and lifting control, addressing coating on various shaped workpieces and research and development in the field of nanomaterials.

This is a device capable of automatically and continuously processing multiple injection-molded plastic products sized 1,000×400 mm per batch, from ultrasonic cleaning in multiple tanks to dip coating and UV curing. Based on our years of experience, we prioritize vibration reduction, which is a very important factor in dip coating (mass effect, placement of the drive source, and edge cutting) as our design philosophy. We have worked hard to create equipment that satisfies our customers by understanding the role of ultrasonic cleaning in the previous process (contribution to yield) and the issues that arise in the subsequent drying and curing process (film irregularities), as well as the importance of each step in the coating process.
