The "Reverse Plum Line (Wire Position Detector)" involves drilling into the foundation ground directly beneath the dam body, embedding a casing pipe down to the solid bedrock, and securing the wire at the bottom using anchors. The wire is lifted using a device called a float, ensuring it remains stable in the direction of gravity at all times.
