Malfunction of the pump due to impurities generated from residual water. The countermeasure was a shift in thinking to not leave water that causes impurities inside the pump.
★Issue 1. Impurities generated when residual water in the pump evaporates cause the valve to stick, preventing steam generation. ★Approach to Solve the Issue 1. Shift the focus from the phenomenon (sticking) to the cause (residual water). 2. Develop a pump structure that does not retain water inside after the pump stops. ★Result 1. The occurrence of sticking has been eliminated, resulting in no failures in steam generation.
