This is an introduction to a case where a GE7FA unit was installed. This plant has experienced several startup failures, and in 2007, a trip occurred due to lubricating oil varnish. The plant used an electrostatic oil purifier equipped with fine particle aggregation technology, but it was unable to reduce the high varnish levels. In preparation for the startup in the summer of 2008, the plant introduced EPT technology. 【Values after the installation of EPT equipment】 (1) As a result of EPT's ICB technology removing varnish from the oil, the varnish value decreased. (2) As the varnish dissolving power of the base oil for the lubricant was restored, the varnish accumulated in the bearing box, seals, and gear parts dissolved into the lubricant, causing the varnish value to increase. (3) The varnish that was dissolved was removed again, leading to a decrease in the varnish value.
