basic information
In Japan's construction industry, due to labor shortages caused by declining birth rates and an aging population, as well as significant reductions in the number of construction starts, there is an increasing need to promote digitalization. This issue is not only relevant to building construction but also affects the inspection and maintenance industries for plants, large facilities, and equipment. The Japanese government has solidified its direction to promote "analog regulations," which impose restrictions on analog operations such as the use of paper and seal stamping, paper application documents, visual inspections on-site, and on-site resident operations. As a result, digitalization in various fields of on-site operations has become unavoidable. One of the themes promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is "remote presence." Remote presence refers to the use of digital technologies such as cloud systems and wearable cameras to conduct presence from a distance without having to physically go to the site. The goal is to perform actions such as "on-site confirmation," "inspections," and "witnessing" remotely. Our provided system allows for pinpoint connections to the desired site for verification and accurately records the quality of the site.

Applications/Examples of results
**Case 1: New Residential Construction** The site supervisor must manage many sites simultaneously. Additionally, the supervisor's duties span a wide range, including customer interactions, contractor arrangements, and creating schedules. It would be ideal for the supervisor to directly check for issues on-site during critical construction phases such as foundations, plumbing, and insulation. However, it is impossible for the site supervisor to check every detail of all the construction work, so they connect remotely with the craftsmen on-site to conduct inspections. By recording photos and checklists of each construction phase in the cloud, a quality record is maintained, which can be useful for inquiries or troubleshooting after the project is completed. **Case 2: Equipment Inspection** In fire safety equipment inspections, certified inspectors are required to conduct the inspections as per legal requirements. If there are deficiencies or unexpected failures in the equipment, an experienced inspector can predict the cause and determine the next steps based on past experiences. However, a less experienced new inspector may need to take the issue back and respond to the customer later. In such cases, remote connections with experienced inspectors or office staff can be made to consult on the equipment status and resolve issues immediately. Additionally, inspection records are kept on floor plans, making it easier to report to customers and organize site information after returning to the office.
