De-binder retort furnace, catalytic type
A catalytic method is used specifically for the debinding process of ceramic and metal components produced by powder injection molding. It is a hot air circulation furnace equipped with an internally heated gas-tight retort. In the catalytic debinding process, the binder containing polyacetal (POM) is chemically decomposed by nitric acid in the furnace chamber and is carried out of the furnace by nitrogen carrier gas to be incinerated at a flare for exhaust gases.
