Lithium salts (such as lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide) are used in various applications, including the production of electrolytes and cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries. Additionally, lithium hydroxide is used in the production of lithium stearate, an important lubricant for cars and aircraft. Furthermore, since lithium hydroxide binds with carbon dioxide, it is also used as an air purifier. This application will demonstrate a simple analytical method for lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate using an automatic OMNIS system.
