[Case Study] Reduction of Fluorine Concentration in the Metal Processing Industry <Toyama Prefecture>

A case where the reduction effect of fluoride and stable treatment effect have allowed for discharge without dilution.

We would like to introduce a case of implementing "fluorine treatment coagulants" in the metal processing industry. In the existing wastewater treatment system, fluorine treatment was conducted using a single-stage coagulation process with lime; however, the fluorine concentration in the treated water could not reach the target value, and it was diluted with well water before being discharged. After the implementation, by adjusting the inflow rates of concentrated and diluted wastewater, the concentration of the raw water became constant, allowing for consistently stable coagulation and fluorine treatment. [Case Overview (Partial)] ■ Challenges - The existing wastewater treatment equipment could not reduce fluorine to the target level. - There was variability in the raw water concentration, leading to unstable wastewater treatment. ■ Results - The fluorine concentration was successfully reduced to the target level. - Due to the effective reduction of fluorine and stable treatment results, it became possible to discharge without dilution. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.
