We would like to introduce a case study of machining crankshafts for agricultural machinery at our company. After performing center hole processing for lathe machining, we carried out outer diameter turning, threading, and drilling on the shaft section. We requested a specialized partner company for heat treatment, which hardens the surface. At this time, if the heat treatment penetrates too much into the threaded section, it can become brittle, which is critical for shafts that require toughness.
