A waterproof international VHF transceiver that can switch between 5W and 1W output and is designed to prevent water ingress (submerged at a depth of 1.5m for 30 minutes).
The HX400IS (HX-400IS) is an international VHF transceiver manufactured by Yaesu Musen (Standard Horizon). It is rated intrinsically safe according to ANSI/UL 913 standards for explosion-proof devices. However, it does not meet the JIS intrinsic safety explosion-proof standards for Japanese-flagged vessels. The output can be switched between 5W and 1W. It has an IPX8 waterproof rating, meaning it can be submerged continuously (up to 1.5m for 30 minutes) without water entering the interior. Using a lithium-ion battery FNB-115LIIS, it provides approximately 17 hours of standard usage. It can be rapidly charged in about 3 hours using the charger CD-50 and the AC adapter PA-456 connected to the charger SAD-1460.
