Reflective objective lenses and beam expanders achieve high performance without generating chromatic aberration, unlike transmissive objective lenses and beam expanders. There are two types of designs for reflective objective lenses: infinite and finite systems. Infinite system objective lenses are suitable for laser focusing applications, while finite system objective lenses are appropriate for imaging applications. Reflective beam expanders use multiple mirrors with reflective coatings deposited on their surfaces to enlarge the beam, making them compatible with ultrashort pulse lasers. Due to the low GDD inherent in metal coatings and their reflective properties, reflective objective lenses and beam expanders are well-suited for the expansion and focusing of pulses from ultrashort pulse lasers.
