It is possible to remove light to heavy rust through blasting! Acquired rust can be easily prevented with paint!
At Harada Ironworks, we are equipped with large blast facilities. We also keep polishing materials that can be used on stainless steel, allowing us to remove rust even when it has spread extensively and deeply. The surface after blasting has a subdued luster without shine, making it less noticeable for reflections, fingerprints, and scratches. Mild rust can be removed at home! basic information
"What is acquired rust?" Stainless steel is resistant to rust thanks to the passive film of chromium oxide, but it can easily rust due to acquired rust. Acquired rust occurs when metals like iron come into contact with stainless steel, and the iron particles that adhere to the surface begin to rust. Over time, the rust from the iron transfers to the stainless steel and starts to corrode it. Once rust adheres to the passive film, its protective function is compromised, making it impossible to prevent. "How to prevent rust on stainless steel" Acquired rust occurs simply from contact with metals like iron, making it a significant factor in the rusting of stainless steel. However, acquired rust can be easily prevented by painting! Painting covers the surface with a coating that hardens, so as long as the scratches are not deep enough to reach the stainless steel, there is no problem even if iron comes into contact. Furthermore, painting enhances the corrosion resistance of stainless steel, resulting in products with even higher corrosion and weather resistance.
