The bamboo guard method is a technique that suppresses the growth of bamboo (bamboo shoots) from above. However, in some cases, there may be a desire to suppress not only the surface but also the underground bamboo roots. In such cases, we recommend installing a "subsurface root barrier" by folding a 2-meter wide bamboo guard sheet in half and setting it up in an L-shape both vertically and horizontally. The case we are introducing this time is based on a consultation we received stating, "Bamboo growing on the cliff along the river, which is public land, has invaded private land and is causing trouble, so we want to block not only the surface but also the underground roots."
