We introduce a case of miniaturization and lightweight design of a Churida antenna to dimensions of 70mm x 10mm (H) and a mass of approximately 70g.
We would like to introduce a case where we developed a "small satellite-mounted antenna." We were consulted on the development of a small, lightweight medium-gain antenna and a low-elevation directional antenna for use in the X-band. The medium-gain antenna, which is used for high-speed data communication, requires high gain and wideband characteristics. As a solution, the medium-gain antenna was designed as a 4-element patch array to achieve miniaturization and lightweight. The low-elevation antenna was structured as a helical antenna to suppress zenith gain and shape the beam to peak in the 30° elevation direction. [Development Overview (Partial)] ■ Consultation Details - Development of a small, lightweight medium-gain antenna and a low-elevation directional antenna ■ Challenges - Durability against vibration, shock, temperature, and radiation - Miniaturization and lightweight design *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

basic information
**Development Overview Details** ■ Background - Medium-gain antennas for high-speed data communication require high gain and wideband characteristics. - Low-angle directional antennas require special directivity to simplify satellite attitude control. - In addition to being compact and lightweight, durability against vibrations during rocket launch and the environmental conditions of outer space (temperature, radiation) is also required. ■ Achievements - The medium-gain antenna has been miniaturized to 70mm x 10mm (H) with a mass of approximately 70g. - The low-angle directional antenna has been miniaturized to 70mm in diameter x 35mm (H) with a mass of approximately 150g, achieving a peak gain of about 4dBi in the 30° elevation direction. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.*
